Sophie Wessex’s funeral dress paid homage to Queen’s famous wedding with subtle stitching

Blooms were picked from three royal residences: Buckingham Palace, Clarence House and Highgrove House.

Rosemary was included as the plant symbolises remembrance, while English oak was also used to represent the meaning of love.

Pelargoniums, garden roses, autumnal hydrangea, sedum, dahlias and scabious were also included in shades of gold, pink and deep burgundy to reflect the Royal Standard.

Sophie also paid tribute to the Queen’s love of horses with her unusual headwear for the funeral.
