Camilla may have to ditch ‘unruly’ style habit for new role as Queen – will ‘work wonders’

, like many of us, may have thought “ would be on the throne forever and there was the distinct possibility that would never become king”, according to Personal Stylist Melissa Lund. But now that Camilla has had to assume a new role, she may have to make a few adaptions to how she presents herself. Melissa spoke exclusively to about the changes we can expect from Queen Camilla.

Melissa told “I don’t think Camilla dresses badly for someone of her age and stage, but I do think that she needs to look a bit more polished in her new role.

“She is now well and truly on the world stage and in the spotlight.”

Melissa’s first tip for Camilla was not a fashion point but rather a general note about appearance.

She stated: “Starting from the top down, she needs to think about her hair, which could be smoother to sit well under the hats she has to wear in her royal role.

Suggesting that the new Queen’s hair could be sleeker, Melissa added: “Hats don’t really work with hair that is a little unruly.”

But what would Melissa advise for a Queen trying to tame her mane – and will this make a big difference?

“Pulling it back and smoothing it out would work wonders. There are many hair smoothing treatments – some permanent and some temporary – which would help her with this.

“This means of course that she can’t take the hat off but that’s a small price to pay for looking sleek whilst wearing said hat.”

In terms of colour, will Camilla decide to mirror Queen Elizabeth’s signature monochromatic “bold” colour looks?

Indeed, as told by Sophie Wessex in The Queen at 90: “Don’t forget that when she turns up somewhere, the crowds are two, three, four, 10, 15 deep, and someone wants to be able to say they saw a bit of the Queen’s hat as she went past.

“She needs to stand out for people to be able to say ‘I saw the Queen’.”

Melissa concluded: “Camilla might like to follow suit and make her colour choices a little bolder. If the dress and hat are the same colour then you can get away with a lot.”
